Mosher Leads Councillors Get Strong Support at Xmas Bazaar ~ The I0.D.E. lend their efforts to the furtherance of worthy community benefits and it was for the purpose of further assistance to the High School Auditorium that the members of Haileybury Chapter held their annual Christmas Tea on' Saturday last. The success of the venture can on!* be attributed to the gener- ous support of citizens to every project undertaken for the after- nocn. The tea was well attended and the serving table was most at- tractive. A Christmas motif was in evidence throughout. The tea table was centred with a gleam- ing silver log which held cones aud Christmas candies and there was a greeting to everyone on the serviettes used. Mrs. J. E. Grant and Mrs. W. R. Lowery poured tea and coffee and _ the table was under the convenership of Mrs. A. Mosher, with Mrs. F. Austin ably assisted by Mrs. Van Eden, Mrs. Drew, Mrs. Hare, Mrs. Nicholls, Mrs. Hogan and Mrs. Hurst. The produce table drew many comments of admiration and those who came to cast an ap- pretiative eye also stayed to buy and the results at the end of the afternoon proved this venture to be an unqualified success. The table was convened by Mrs. A. C. Dempster and Mrs. G. Harrison who proved their artistry in the attractive arrangement of the goods for sale provided by mem- bers of. the local Chapter of the Order. Mrs J. Thomson sold tickets on a Christmas Cake baked and donated by the Regent of the Chapter, Mrs. N. MclIsaac. This project was well supported ~and the owner of the winning ticket wn aby, Mrs. J..A. H. Joyal proved to be Mrs. Terry Smith of Haileybury, to whom congratu- lations are extended. The annual turkey draw is al- ways watched with keen interest and this year was no exception to that rule. To all those who dr; purchased tickets many thanks are returned. The _ ticket, drawn by Mrs. J. A. H. Joyal gave the turkey to Laurent Sauve, who is more than pleased with his good fortune. Mrs. J Lecky convened this ticket selling campaign, assisted by Mrs. C. H Liddicot, Mrs H. Jensen, Mrs. J. (. Dunn and every member oi Haileybury Chapter. The selling of Christmas Cards ribbons, wrapping and other sea- sonable stationery under- taken by Mrs. H. Jensen, has met with generous response and she has a few attractive packages still on hand. The Christmas Tea was held at the home of Mrs R.D, Cumming ake Shore Road and the steady stream of ladies entering the door during the afternoon proved the popularity of the event. The guests were received by «the hostess, Mrs. R. D. Cuming and greeted by Mrs. N: D Mclsaac Regent of the local Chapter.
