THURSDAY, JULY 8th, 1954 THE HAILEYBURIAN GOLF CLUB NOTES The tea convener for Wednes- day, July 14th will be Mrs R. D. Cumming, assisted by Mrs. J. B. Robinson. Mrs: N- D. Mclsaac and Mrs. Alan Hurst. The list for the remainder of the season has been posted in the Club house and all members are asked to make a note of their day and if, perchance, they cannot act on the day chosen. it is their respon- sibility. to arrange to switch with someone else. HK President Terry Smith expects eighty entries from North Bay to Noranda to take part in the an- nual Northern Ontario Mixed Fournament this week-end with their eye on the Calvert trophy and an array of prizes that should inspire some crack golfing. Local , players will tee off on Friday night and those wishing to should get their word in now with the Draw Committee. Lorne Uniph- rey and Chris, Murphy. Other players will tee "off as they ar- rive on Saturday morning. This week-end the Stewardess, Mrs. Brown, will be serving full breakfasts both Saturday and Sunday. The menu on Saturday for lunch will be creamed chic- ken or salmon loaf with salads; dinner on Saturday night of Swiss steak or dressed pork and Sun- dey night turkey or roast beef and at every meal all the trimmings right to the dessert and coffee. A beautiful new plaque hangs on the wall of the Club House this year donated by Mrs. Jack Mur- phy to inspire young» Junior members to try for the Junior Championship. Winners' names will be inscribed as the years go by and an individual prize will be given to each , The Jackson Event which was to be played this week has been postponed to Tuesday, July 13th at 2 o'clock. A sculptured cap of tulle illusion held her short veil and she carried semi-cascade of pink Briarhill roses.
