The nore 'be held on Firemen Carry Out Full Program in Prevention Week Fire Prevention Week is con- sidered to be one of the most important and progressive steps forward towards teaching child- ren and adults alike to use their heads and prevent tragedy from striking. The efforts of firemen tivough the year and particularly thig week are deservir- ~£{ the fullest co-operation, the week began with a meet- ing of sixteen members at the fire hall who found tw rovies "Are You Safe. at Home". and "Fire On the Farm" two of the best releases yet available. They were shown to the Public School and Separate School children during the week. Regular school drills were also held and home inspection forms were handed to all children to take home and fill out. Too many parents "cannot be bothered" but we would suggest that edu- cating the young in the hazards leading to fire in the home can pay the biggest dividends In the years to come. They will not forget that "gasoline is dyna- mite" if they are made to under- stand now. Through the week an inspec- -- tion of al] public buildings has been taking place to insure that they are free of fire hazards and properly equipped wih suitable fire escapes. On Friday night, Firemen hope that they will be able to carry out an oil pit demonstration at the lakefront. Whether they can carry out this plan depends en- tirely on the available supply of oil, The Fire Hal is open for public inspection this week.
