Page Four THE HAILEYBURIAN THURSDAY, JULY 7th, 1955 Playground Activities By Suzanne Lecky The Playground Activities be- gan with a bang and.an attend- ance of a little over sixty child- ren on Monday. We find we have some hot pit- chers and batters on the climb among the big little boys, and the older "boys are giving them real sportsmanlike encourage- ment. The Grand Scrub game knows no age limit, as the three Rivard brothers will tell you. The children are also enjoying Dodgeball and Volleyball, and we are finding special enthusiasm for tennis. Active games and sport fill the mornings Wednesday afternoons we pr- actise for a final big field to be held in August. Two other spec- ial events are being planned. For the 15th of August we want all the youngsters to decorate their bykes, trykes, scooters, Doll pramsand wagons for a grand wheeler parade. It is true we still have to find prizes for this event but the Good Fairy assures me, we shall find them. There will also be a Poster and Costume Contest, a Parade and a Rodeo during Wild West Week from the 18th to the 22nd July. Finger Puppets, Springy C- owns, Pinwheels and Macaroni Jewellery are some of the const- ruction numbers on the list this week in our quiet afternoon Crafts period.
