St. Louis and Shirley, spent the weekend visit- ing in Sudbury, Sturgeon Falls and North Bay. A party was held at Park Ro- yal last Saturday night for the Fastball Leagues. President Ge- orge Weston presented the Hai- leybury Garage Trophy to Wal- ter Frackleton, Manager for Steelworkers. The R. A. Moris- sette Shield went to Ed Ramsay for batting championship. The Haileybury Fastball League then presented Anita Plaunt, with a gold electric clock, and Steelworkers gave a manicure case. Anita Plaunt is leaving Friday Sept. 23rd for the World Series. and will be away until Oct. 3rd. Mr. Arnold Dempster, Mr. R. Poppleton and Mr. D. Hellens went to New York on a business trip. Mr. Douglas Murphy has left to attend St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ont, ° Kathleen Murphy returned to Toronto where she is attending College there. Mr. Raymond McIntosh, who works out of town for the Hyd- To, was visitng his family over the weekend. Miss - Margaret Beasley re- turned Saturday from a trip to Ottawa. Diane Viruvere of Kirkland Lake was visiting Mrs. Louise Miller. In a cribbage game this week Fraser Reavell_ achieved the cribbage players ambition when he was dealt the jack Of hearts, the five of diamonds, the five of clubs and the five of spades and drew the five of hearts to count the highest score of twenty nine.
