Page Four THE HAILEYBURIAN 1955 THURSDAY, OCT. 6th, Canadian Legioi News BY BOB FLEMING We, of the men's branch of the Legion had our joint execu- tive meeting with the Ladies executive oi the Auxiliary. The busimess discussed was the control of the hall. for the past year and more the Ladies have handled it all themselves and carried alll the finance for its up-keep. Last night it was agreed that the Ladies continue their run- ning ol the hall, but they are to receive financial assistance irom the men until the early part of the new year. When, at that time, another meeting will be held, and the men are to consid- er taking it over themselves again. With financial assistance from the ladies, of course. At the present time the men can help financially but are not able to take it over. We have oifered help for a period of time until we are in a better state ourselves, which we hope will be in the very near future. One big reason that we can not handle the hall situation conypletely is the lack of mem- bers, and activity, in the branch. At our last meeting things appeared to take a big step for- ward. We hope we can continue to take more steps in the right direction with more new mem- bers, and new ideas such as de- veloped from our last meeting. If you are a veteran, or even a Legion member that has not been coming out, we will be very glad to have you with us. We need you, and you will find a great deal of self-satisfaction in being an active Legion mem- ber yourself. _ I truthfully say that you could not be a part of a better organization. Ihave been very lax in get ting things rolling for our pop- py campaign but I intend to get going immediately. Give poppy day a lot of thought and your most needed financial sup- port. can also C. J.
