Father L. Brunette offici- ating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. O'Shaughnessy of Hailey- bury, and the late T, J. O'Shau- ghnessy, and the groom's par- ents are M. and Mrs. J. Moore of Wemburne, England. Given in marriage by her uncle, C. V. J. O'Shaughnessy of Cobalt, the bride wore for her wedding, a frock of champ- agne French lace over satin, with an off-the-shoulder neck- line, and long sleeves, the full skirt in waltz length. Her chapel veil of net was held by a matching chaplet of lace. Her houquet was composed of Orange Delight roses. Attending as bridesmaid was Miss Lina Francheseni of Deep River, who was dressed in eme- rald green tissue faille, styled with off-the-shoulder neckline ind bouffant skirt... Her head- dress was a_ bandeau of yellow flowers and she carried yellow roses. Board af Education Grateful To 1.0.D.E. The Haileybury Board of Education have issued this note of appreciation to the members of the Imperial Order, Daugh- ters of the Empire, for the in- terest taken in the schools dur- ing the past years. Adding to along list of donat-° ions made to the High and Public Schools during' the past years, such as, an upright piano, war pictures, library books, stage curtains etc., the Hailey- bury Chapter, Imperial Order, Daughters of the British Empire, have once again, very. generou- sly demonstrated their interest in providing improved educat- ional facilities for the school children. They have now purchased a grand piano for the 'Schools Auditorium, a minor share of the cost of which was provided by the Students Council of this and last year. The Board members are en- couraged by the co-operation 'of the Chapter and the Students Council in financing projects for which school funds are not avail- able, especially in these days of school financing. Students and teachers also, appreciate every effort made on their behalf and will find-the piano a source of inspiration in their efforts ito please a listening audience at school concerts. a The Board of Education re- 4 cently and express their sincere appreciation to the Officers, Ex- ecutive Members and Members of the Haileybury Chapter, who have so generously given of their time and efforts in fund raising projects to make such a gift and previous gifts possible. WEDDING BFLLS McPARLAND -- HARGRAVE The marriage of Janice Mar- jorie Hargrave, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hargrave, and Earl Eric McParland, son -of Mrs, McParland of Ferris and the late E. T. McParland, took place Saturday, February 9, at two o'clock, in the Haileybury United church with Rev. J. W. \W. Wilkinson officiating. The church was decorated with white and mauve 'mums with white satin bows marking the guest pews. Mrs. A .F .Herity of New Liskeard played the wedding music and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. A. H. Cooke of Haileybury who sang "O Per- fect Love" before the ceremony and "The Lord's Prayer" during the signing of the register, The bride, who was given in marriage by her father wore a gown of white net and lace over taffeta, fashioned in strap- less style, with long sleeved bolero of lace. The full skirt was in alternate tiers of net and lace. Her veil, which was of tulle illusion, was fingertip length, draped from a circlet of rhinestones, She car- ried a shower bouquet of red roses, She was attended by Miss Jacqueline O'Grady as maid of honor, wearing yellow brocade taffeta with scoop neckline and bouffant skirt, matching headdress and gloves. The brides maids were Miss Wanita Smith, who wore a full- skirted gown of pink nylon tri- cot with square neckline, mat- ching stole, bandeau and gloves, -and Miss Mary Craig, wearing pale blue net over taffeta, high- lighted by darker blue, bows on the skirt. All three attendants carried nosegays of yellow roses. The best man was Gorman Brisson of Ferris. The ushers were the groom's brother, Rus- sell McParland and the bride's uncle, Joseph Hargrave. For her daughter's wedding and the reception which follow ed in the Blue Room of the Hotel Haileybury, Mrs. Har- grave chose a gown of dark blue crystalaine with winter white accessories and corsage of pink roses. The groom's mother wore a suit of black wool with frosty white accessories and pink cor: sage, Later the young couple left for a wedding trip to Toronto, Niagara Falls and other south- ern points, the bride travelling in a costume of black wool, and avocado accessories. She wore the gift of the groom, a rhine- stone necklace and matching earrings. On their return they will make their home in Ferris. Among the out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mrs. E.
