Levely who were one time re- sidents of Haileybury. Mrs. Sulphur's sister, Mrs. C. Johnson of Renfrew returned with them for a visit, Mr. Ralph Peacock son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Peacock former residents of Haileybury was in town-at the weekend renewing old acquaintances. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. Cragg the past week-end were their -son and family Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cragg Tommie and Carolyn and Mr. Keith McKenzie of Elliot Lake Mr. Lewin Richards of Sarnia and a cousin of Mr. Crageg's whom he hasn't seen in thirty- one years Mr. David Hopkins of Argyle, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. William Farmer spent the past week-end in To- ronto where they attended the wedding of Mr. Farmer's nep- hew and also celebrated the tenth anniversary of their dau- ghters wedding, Mrs. Howara Hutt and Mr. Hutt. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Smith this week are their son, Roy Smith of Keno Yukon and Miss Joan Stevens of Elsa, Yukon. Mrs. M. Hughes Fall last Mr. Francis Joy, Port Arthur spent the Thanksgiving Holiday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Joy, Main Street. In preparations for the coming ski season, members of the Ski Club have been working during the past three week-ends making repairs to the ramp of the two cutting brush and generally cleaning up. : W.I. Entertain Husbands Members of the Haileybury Women's Institute entertained their husbands at a pot-luck supper in the Legion Hall Thursday evening, October 10. The attendance was not as large as had been hoped for owing to the prevalence of flu. Before the supper was served a few games of bingo were played and afterwards, Chinese checkers and Cribbage provided entertainment. The ladies prize for Chinese checkers went to Mrs, R, Mc- Gillivary and the men's to Carl Clute. In Cribbage the high scores were held by Mrs. P. Libby and John Hallworth, with Mrs. J. Gilkes and Lawrence Fleming getting the low counts, OBITUARY Mrs. James H. Norris The death occurred suddenly in . Kirkland District Hospital early Thursday morning, follow- ing a lengthy illness of Mrs James Norris of 566 Government Road, W., Chaput Hughes. She was seventy-one years of age. Mrs.. Norris was born at Brooke in Lanarah county near Péarth, Ontario. She came to Haileybury with her family in 1907 and resided there until 1927 then resided in Cobalt before coming to Chaput Hughes in 1933. Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mild- red, Mrs. Ronald Drolet, 30-A Duncan Ave., Kirkland Lake: She was predeceased by her only son, Roy who was killed in action with the RCAF in France in 1942. She was a member of the West End United Church, life member of the W.A., and also a member of the Shuniah Chapter No. 41, Order. of the Eastern Star, Cobalt: The body rested at the Sym- ington Funeral Home, until time for the service at 1.30 pm., at Kirkland Trinity United Church with Mr. Neville "Reader, Lay- man of West End United Church officiating. Pallbearers were R. Jackson Chas. Green, Al. Gardiner, H. Gardiner, George McGregor and Art Command. Buriel was in the family plot in Kirkland Cemetery.
