Weir, Mrs. T. M. Dayman and son, Billie of Toronto, arrived in town Sunday to visit with Mrs. Dayman's parents, Mr. and Mrs, T. G. Tulloch. North week Mrs. N. Blanchette Bay, was in town this visiting friends. Mrs. B. Budgeon left last week on a trip to Parry Sound and other points, Miss Maureen Gagnon of To- ronto, was in town last week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Buster Huard, Miss Pat Devine returned home to. North Bay last weekend after spending three weeks with her grandmother, Mrs. N. J. McAulay, She has joined the Airforce and left there Sunday night for St. John's, Quebec, for training. Mrs. Tom Cragg, Mrs. Clar- ence Tyson, Mrs. James Ritchie, Mrs. Robert Carter and Mrs. N. J. McAulay, Sr., attended the Eastern Star meeting in New Liskeard, Monday evening Novy- ember 4th. Johnny, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman MacPherson who has been visiting his parents, for the past three weeks returned to his regiment in Winnipeg, last Friday. He is with the Horse Artillery Division of the Canadian Army and sails from Quebec City, November 15th, for Germany where he will be stationed for the next three years. Mrs. R. W. BAILEY ATTENDS P. C. MEETING W. Bailey has returned home after attending the Ontario Progressive Conservative meet- ing held at the Royal York Hotel, November 4th, and 5th. On the first day, the sessions were set aside for the young Conservatives, an age group of 18--40 years. The Honourable Dave Fulton, Minister of Just- ice was the guest speaker at this time. The following day, the Prime Minister Honourable Leslie Frost spoke of the progress of Ontario and the Conservative Marty. The highlight of the convent- ion was hearing the Prime Min- ister of Canada John Diefen- baker speak on the Nationar Policy. Mr. Batley naa tne pleasure of meeting Mr. Die- tenbaker and talking with him. A new slate of officers was elected for the Ontario Associa- tion. Mr. Bailey would like to re- mind the people of Temiskaming that an important Conservative meeting will be held at the Strand Theatre in Kirkland Lake on Wednesday, November 13th, to select a candidate to carry the Progressive Conser- vative Banner in the next Fede- ral election.
