The basement was attractively decorated with Christmas colors cedar boughs, and coloured lights. The guest were received at the door by Mrs. J. W. Wilkin- son and Mrs. J. Timmins. The tea table, laid with a lace cloth was centered with a Santa Claus, sleigh and reindeer and coloured candles. Mrs, H. Pickard was in charge of the tea table with Mrs. G. Pratt, Mrs. M. Elliott and Mrs. N. J. McAulay assisting in the kitchen. Misses Pat Arnold, Katie Uren, Ann Breithaupt and, Kathleen Neelands served the guests. Mrs. M. B. Glazier, Mrs. Wer ReessoOmenvilles =) Mise |e Rogers and Mrs. J. Wilkinson poured tea during the afternoon. Knitted articles caught the eye as one entered. This was in charge of Mrs, G. Thoday_ and Mrs. Wm, Farmer. The apron table with Mrs. C. Loyery assisted by Mrs. C. Tuer Mrs. H. Thompson and Mrs. F, McFar- lane made a pretty booth with the riot of colors and all kinds and styles of aprons, Something new was a delica- tessen table with all manner of appetising goodies. Mrs. L. Childs, Mrs. D, Gagnon and Mrs. C. Dobbs were in charge of this. The produce table which is always a well patronized one was looked after by Mrs, J. Richie, Mrs. G. Maddison and Mrs. G. Gibson, Mrs, M. B. Glazier, Mrs, T. Crandall, Mrs. N. Austin, Miss C. Somerville and Mrs. F. Aus- tin were at the fancy work table where the usual variety of articles were displayed. The fish pond was the draw- ing card for the children with Mrs. D, Dean and Mrs, J. Robinson in charge assisted by Diane Dean and Rosemary Robinson. The ladies at the candy booth were Mrs. E. St. Louis, Mrs. D. Gardnier and Miss T. Arkinson were kept busy. Mrs. D, Scanlan, Mrs. F. Reavell and Mrs. J. Valentine looked after the touch and take parcels with Miss Muriel Rice the cookbooks. OBITUARY CLAYTON W CAVERLY With deep and sincere regret, the management of Hill-Clark- Francis announces the death of a vice-president, Mr. Clayton W. Caverly, suddenly, at To- ronto, on Sunday November 10, in his forty-sixth year. He was the beloved husband of Ethel C. (Benny) Caverly and dear father of Joanne, Douglas, Heather, Bruce, Paul and Kathy Mr. Caverly joined Hill-Clark -Francis, Limited, at Timmins in 1935. His business ability brought well-earned promotion within the company and _ his friendly manner won him a host of friends. At the time of his death, Clayton Caverly was vice-presi- dent of Hill-Clark-Francis and was president of their subsidary lumber companies, John W. Fogg, Ltd. and A. E.| Wicks, Ltd.
