In a whirl of pleats, your classic standby, in soit cashmere with magnifi- cently pleated skirt and ~softly relaxed top in that marvelous new shade of Petrol, comes in size eighteen and a half. A honey of a sleeveless sheath dress in wool, so versatile as has a smart bolero, bloused a' the waist and finished with a small fur collar, which makes it perfect for afternoon or even- ing wear, in the new deep sapp- hire tone. This would be stunn- ing with Kayser's new "hint of a tint" sheer hose in blue. Dramatic is the word for an oyster shade dress in wool jer- sey, fully lined, This has a beautifully draped neckline, cut low out on the shoulder, with a spray of beading in black jet and pearls which again appears on the Harem-draped skirt (This should make even the most un- interested male sit up and take notice.) For the sophisticated matron, a black sheath dress cut low in back, with long fitted sleeves, has discs of brilliants threaded on a cord, outlining the neck-~ line. The clearly etched lines of this dress are most flattering. A beguilingly simple dress in red chiffon has a draped anc folded bodice, square neckline and voluminous skirt with a six inch hem. This dress would in- troduce a note of gaiety for that "very special' occasion. A handful of velvet, Corde or black peau de soie forms the soft pouch or envelope style of your cocktail or afternoon bag. You may have them perfectly, plain or with gold brilliant studded frames, in black or sil- ver brocade or jet with pearls. Many of these bags are beauti- fully lined and fitted, with the unmistakeable label of "Made in France." New for after five wear, gloves in beaded fabrics "the long and short of it" in the em- broidered theme, the _ shortie with scalldped beading at the wrist, the eight button glove with sophisticated beading on back. There are also plain shirr- ea effects. There is an air of excitement in the Evelyn Shoppe these days as all the beautiful merchandise is being unpacked.
