Cobalt United Church Ho:d Valentine fea The Ladies of the Cobalt Unit- ed Church held a lovely Valen- tine Tea on Friday, February 14, in the Cobalt Community Hall. The tea table was decorated with red and white candles and tea was poured by Mrs. T. J. Duncan. Mrs. Harry Millar received the guests. The bake table was taken care of by Mrs, T. Jack- son and the sewing table by Mrs Nettie Wallman. Tea table conveners were Mrs. H. Welch and Mrs. Basil Jack- son. Serving were, Mrs. B. Scul- ly, Mrs. W. Mallett, Mrs. Men- zie, Mrs. S. Sloan and Mrs. Don McGugan. In the kitchen were, Mrs. Wink Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Benner, OBITUARY ERIC W. HAMMERSTROM Funeral service was held Sat- urday afternoon, at 2.30 for the late Eric William Hammerstrom Mr. Hammerstrom was born in Ljusne, Sweden in 1893 and was the son of Gustov and Char- lotte Hammerstrom, g The family moved to Hailey- bury when Mr. Hammerstrom was fifteen years old. For the past thirty-five years he was an employee of the Cobalt Foundry. The body rested at the Buf- fam Funeral Chapel unti] buriel time Saturday, when it was taken to St. James' Church, Rev George Johnston officiated. Pallbearers were Denny Hou- ghton, E, M. Houghton, Gerald Brown, Doug McLeod, A. NORTH SUNSHINE W.I. HOLD ANNUAL DINNER The North Sunshine W.I. an- nual Turkey dinner was held Saturday evening, at the Public School in North Cobalt.
