The drain flooded the hotel basement, and Jimmy Timmins presented a bill for $113. The town referred the matter to the insurance -adjustors. AMWELL STREET FIRE A fire on a vacant lot on Am well Street on Tuesday, at one p.m. brought the firemen to the scene ina hurry. Chief Ken Watson says it was the result of matches in the hands of children and only the prompt action of the firemen saved the home of Gerry Cotnam and prevented the spread of fire to neighboring lots. Chief Watson is most em phatic in emphasing the danger of allowing children to handle or carry matches, especially at this time of the year.
