THE HAILEYBURIAN AND COBALT WEEKLY POST Senior golfers will play Englehart celebrates its at Haileybury August 4 Sonj--Centennial in August In less than a month it will be just ten years since the second annual Nerthern Ontario Seniors' Golf Asso- ciation championships were played at the Haileybury Golf Club. This year, the eleventh annual classic will again take place in Hai- leybury, on August 4th and 5th. The executive have spar- ed nothing in making the greens and fair comparable to the best inthe north. President J.C. Murphy, while particularly pleased with the standard of the course, points out that Hai- leybury has always held its own an exacting layout. Roy Herne of Sudbury, who won the championship two years ago at Timmins and again last year at Sault Ste, Marie, willagain, at 64, be defendinghis laurels at*Haileybury. The entries from the Public School have been judged and the judges awarded first prize to Sandra Mills; se- cond prize to Nancy Bradt ° and third prize to Judy Bar- stead. The awards to the winners of the High School have not been announced as yet. __ Itis expected that pre- sentations will be made to the various winners at a suitable time during the Semi-Centennial celebra - tions which commence Aug: ust 1st and continue through Monday, August 4th. Monday, August 4th. will see aquatic sports being sponsored by the Kinsmen Club at the Lee Swimming Pool in the morning. During the afternoon a field day program will be sponsored by the Canadian Legion and a fireworks disply will set off at dark. To wind up the day a dance will be held in the Curling Rink at night. .
