Canon Goodier (Continued from Page One) On behalf of the congregation, George Herbert, People's Warden, presented Canon ~Goodier 'with a purse of money and Mrs. Goodier received a beautiful bouquet of red roses. To add variety to the party, Mrs. Goodier was celebrating a birthday on Thursday so "Happy Birthday to You", was sung. The party took the form of a des- sert and coffee party and while it was being served and eaten, Mrs. T. Cawley provided a background of soft music. Canon Goodier's nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prid- ham of Palmerston, arrived in time to be present for the last of the party.
