Warehousing in Haileybury, was in North Bay, February 25, with two of his drivers, James Whelan and John McMahon, who were to receive Safe Driving a- wards at a dinner being held in the St. Regis Hotel that evening. A successful dance was spon- sored by the Civil Servants asso- ciation' with Orville Tretheway of New Liskeard as head of the committee in charge. The dance was held in the Haileybury Legion Hall, February 20, with Campsall's Orchestra from New Liskeard providing the music, and was well attended. Mr. G. P. Thoday left last Fri- day by plane for Mexico City and from there will continue to San- tiago and Chile, on a business trip that will last two weeks: On the return trip he will call at Lima, Peru. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Blackwell recently opened their home to the students of Grade Eight of the public school, following a _ skat- ing party at the local rink. Mrs. J. P. Carter of Cochrane is visiting her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Blackwell and Mr. Blackwell. Mrs. Fred Hume of Hamilton is in town visiting her sister, Mrs, Robert Jenkins and Mr. Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart and family motored to Noranda the past week-end where they visited friends and also attended the Ladies' bonspiel. Ray Wigley was a week-end visitor to Noranda and attended the Ladies' Bonspiel. A successful Mother and Daugh- ter banquet was sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Girl Guides, in the United Church basement, Tuesday evening. Full details will be- given next week. Mrs. A. David of Cochrane was a visitor in 'town this week.
