Mid., Mon., Tues., March 23 - 24 COBALT -- WED. & THURS., MARCH 25 - 26 Robert McAuley Funeral services for the late Robert McCauley of North Cobalt, Ont., who passed away in Miser- acordia Hospital on March 6 in his 79th year was conducted from the Buffam Funeral Chapel on March 9th, with Rev. H. W. Wip- precht officiating. Robert McCauley was born at Caledonia, Ont., and is the last of a family of sixteen children. He came to Cobalt in 1911 and has continued to reside in the north since that time. He was associated with the Haileybury Lumber Company in Haileybury for many years and later with the Haileybury Lumber Company in Kirkland Lake. He is survived by his wife, the former Marguerite Trimmings and one daughter, Mrs. Paul Hermis- ton of Cobalt, also two grandchild- ren. A son predeceased him in 1944. Out-of-town relatives and friends were Miss Shirley McCauley, Ken- ora, Mrs. Roy Draper, Kenora, Mr. Ronald McKinnon and Mr. Stewart Pamenter of Toronto. Mr. Jos. McCauley and Mr. Kenneth Ashbaugh of Caledonia, Mrs. Ro- bert Fitzpatrick, Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Rathwell, Mrs. Michael Rathwell and Miss Louise Rathwell of Kirkland Lake, also Mr. and Mrs. David N. Brown of Chaput Hughes, Ont. Pall-bearers were Jos. McCau- ley, Ronald McKinnon, Stewart Pamenter, Paul Hermiston, J. J. Rathwell and Martin Willard. Interment was in Mount Pleas- and Cemetery, Haileybury. Missionary Thanks Mission Circle The March meeting of the Pen- tecostal Mission Circle was held in the basement room of the par- sonage and was opened with the singing of "He Lifted Me," fol-| lowed by prayer. Minutes of the previous meet- ing were read by Mrs. S. Doug- las, who also.read a letter from a missionary in the East Indies, thanking the circle for a gift sent to her. Dues and meal pennies were col- lected. ' On behalf of the members, Mrs. Noble Hermiston presented Mrs. Churchill, the pastor's wife with a gift certificate as a remem- brance for her birthday. 'The devotional period was led by Mrs. C. McRoberts and was based on the thirty fourth Psalm. Mrs. McRoberts spoke on-the verse, "This poor man cried and the Lord heard him." Quilting, embroidering and sew- ing occupied the remainder of the evening. Lunch was served by Mrs. S. Douglas and: Mrs. Gib. Lowe, assisted by Mrs. C. E. Mil- ler. Curling Notes The Bagshaw Competition in the Men's Section was finished last Wednesday night with Tom Cragg's rink winning over one skipped by Bill Bagshaw. On the rink with Tom was Dr, McGarry, Keith Valentine and Austin Kopus, In the finals of the Norma Her- ron, ladies section, Audrey Bond won first, Jean St. Louis second and Maud Cragg, third. Their rinks consisted of the fol- lowing; Audrey Bond, Betty Doran, Fran Morissette and Win. Kelly. Jean: St Louis, Rita Sweeney, Marg Wiggley and S. Bosch.
