New Lis- keard arena also closed for the Wednesday season last week-end. 8:00 p.m.--Prayer and Bible Study What to do with the Arena dur- ing the off season is giving the Arena Board some concern these days. It is understood that Hill- OF CANADA RIGHT AWAY @ee Clark-Francis could make use of The Rev'd R. H. Nixon, Dip. Th. : t the building for storage during the Restor ' off season, and then on the other hand there are some who are ser- iously considering sponsoring the "grunt and groan' game again. New Liskeard would be a stand on the North Bay circuit. The last time "'rasslin" was tried in New Liskeard it started off not too bad- ly but then kind of petered out so that not only the contestants didn't receive any filthy lucre for their efforts, but the Arena Commission out of their share, didn't get enough to pay for the lights. How- ever times may have changed somewhat over the years and TV with its interest in Saturday night sport may have wetted the appe- tites for the game again. One thing that makes it look as though the snow was finally going to disappear is the long range weather forecast that calls for higher than normal weather dur- ing April. If it means higher than last April it is going to be pretty warm -- but then if it means high- er than last May that will be some- thing again, because May last year was one of the worst months we had as far as heat was concerned. -Next week we will be announc- ing the Annual Trout Derby for the readers of The Speaker and the Haileyburian. The length of time the contest will run this year will depend to a large extent on the turn of the weather, and the condi- tion of lakes and streams come May first. One thing is certain, we do not need to give too great a length of time for the fishermen to get all primed up for the contest. They can get ready for that in just about the same length of time as a youngster can get his feet in 11:00 a.m.--Worship Service 7:00 p.m.--Evening Service ST.
