Te. aT SORES SEE Page 10 Cobalt Miss Veronica L. Way - Word was received in Cobalt this week of the death of Miss Veroni- ca L. Way at the Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara, California. Miss Way suffered 'a heart attack on May 5 and passed away on Wed- nesday;' May 6. She was born Feb- ruary 23, 1897, in Windsor and was raised and received part of her ed- ucation in Cobalt. Leaving Cobalt The Haileyburian Thursday, May 14, 1959 in 1923, she moved to California settling in the Los Angeles area in 1927 and since 1951 has resided at 824 Buena Vista Road, Santa Barbara. The daughter of the late David H, Way and Ida M. Way she is survived 'by three brothers Clar- ence M. Way of Studio City, Cal- ifornia and two brothers living in the East; one sister, Margaret, Camp of Pasadena, Calif. Miss Way was a registered nurse, a member of the Santa Barbara Toastmistress Club and E.S.A. Sorority, Zeta Omega Chapter. She was a professional dress de- signer and custom dressmaker, and was on the teaching staff of the Santa Barbara City School, Adult Education Department and taught dress designing and tailoring. Fun- eral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9 in the Welch- Ryce Associates Chapel with the Rev. W. Bond, assistant rector of All Saints By-the-ea Episcopal Church officiating. Oddfellows Hold Church Parade The Oddfellows paraded to St. James Anglican Church, Cobalt on Sunday May 3rd. Several brothers from New Liskeard and also Sis- ters from Silver Rebekah Lodge, Cobalt and Lakeside Lodge, New Liskeard marched with them. The uniformed Canton branch-was out in strength and looked smart in their regalia. Brother Stan Tresidder was Marshall for the day. Brother Rev. George Johnston gave an inspir- ing address which' was enjoyed by all. The Cobalt Lodge No. 379 would like to tender their appre- ciation to the Minister and Board of Elders of the Anglican Church for the reception Sunday, May 3rd.
