| Edward J, Atkinson The death occurred in Miseri- cordia Hospital, Haileybury, on "Saturday, May 9, of Edward James Atkinson, following an ill- } ness of less than a year. Mr. Atkinson was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sigfried Atkinson, pion- eer residents of Haileybury, and was born in East Bolton, Que. | WANT ADS He was actively engaged in construction work, along mining and hydro lines until his health failed. The nature of his work took him to many different places, among them Mexico, where he spent a number of years, Timmins, Baise Comeau, and many others. Previous to his illness, he had been for several years at Lavrie- ville, and was the representative of the H. G. Acres Company at Niagara Falls. He is survived by his wife, the former Lillian Hosie, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Atkinson, and two sons, Edward James and Camp- bell William, both of Toronto. Also surviving are a brother, Cyril At- kinson of Toronto and a sister, Mrs. Thyra Fancy of Haileybury. Mr. Atkinson rested at the home of his parents, Rorke Avenue until time for the funeral service which was held from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Monday afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. Roy Nixon officiated at the -service. Pall-bearers were Russell Mur- phy, Frank MacFarlane, Jack Thursday, May 21, 1959 Lecky and John MacArthur, all of Haileybury, G. R. Gibson of Tim- mins and Jack Campbell of Kirk- land Lake. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Many beautiful floral arrange- ments paid silent tribute to the memory of Mr. Atkinson.
