Urban and daughiter Laurie who will be 'their guests for a few days. ~ Mrs. Elmo Valiquette and child- ren of North Bay were visitors this week at the home of her par- ents Mr. and Mrs. H. Mulligan. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Smith and Arnold left Sunday for Renfrew where they will be 'residing. Miss Judy Slaght left Monday for Renfrew and Ottawa for a two week vacation. Mr. Harold Brunette returned home from Toronto where he at- tended the meetings of tthe United Steelworkers of America Policy Conference held att the Royal York Hotel. While away he also visited his mother Mrs. C. Ziegler in Kit- chener. Mr. and Mrs. J. Mathews and family spent a few days recently at the home of Mr. Matthews' par- ents Mr. and Mirs. W. Mathews in Rugby, Mrs A. Robitaille and Mrs. C. Saxiton are conveners for a Bake Sale to be held on Saturday June 20 in the Eaton Order Ofifice by the Boy Scout Committee. The Boy Scouts in Cobalt have not had any money raising projects for quite some itime and it is hoped that the | mothers and friends of Scouts will do their utmost to support this! worthwhile cause. Mrs. Whitehead, Zone Com- mander of District K made her official visit to the Charlton branch of the Ladies' Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion. She was accom- panied by Mrs. P. Winks. Mr. and Mrs. John Damiani, Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Presse and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Slaght attended the Charter Anniversary Night of the Temagami Lions Club-on Wednes- day, June 10th. Mrs. M. Only six have so far reached Montreal for shipment to the U.K. where they are to be transformed in- 'to hats for the Royal Guard- Mayor Del Villano of Tim- mins' personally escorted the hides to Montreal where he went last week to attend a conference of municipal fin- ance officers. Lt.-Col. Carmichael, of the British Ministry of supply is now formally in charge of the bear skins. Mayor Del Villano added that he has been re- quested to keep the location of et returned to St. Catherines after spending the week-end in Cobalt and Temagami.
