In United States -- $3.50 per year in advance. Cobalt Public School The Cobalt - Coleman Public School held its annual picnic at Bass Lake on Wednesday, June 17th. Special buses and several ears took the staff and students to the beach. Many parents also at- tended. Many Register for Camp Lorrain Camp Lorrain, the lovely holi- day resort on the shore of Lake Temiskaming, starts a busy sum- mer on July 6, when the first of a record registration arrives for the first week's activities. Rev. J. Young, United Church minister in New Liskeard, told the Speaker that the camp continues to be a popular spot for the young people "in the district, and this year will be able to accomodate more than ever, as an additional sleeping cabin. was built this year, making twelve cabins as well as the two big lodges. For many years the camp has been blessed with pure running water, which has never failed to register A-1 in all the years the camp has operated. The camp operates under a li- cence issued by. the Ontario De- partment of Health, and camp manager, Don McGugan, and the councillors take every possible pre- caution to ensure the health and safety of their young charges. The camp has a varied program for boys and girls, there is plenty of good food, there is Bible study, crafts, life saving and swimming lessons, group games, hikes, ev- erything for an enjoyable time. There is still room for a few more holidayers, and any person wishing to register should' get in touch with Don McGugan at 847 Cobalt or at the camp. As a great national asset, the forests are far beyond price. Mr. Gordon Warren of North Bay was a recent visitor in town. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Warren and son Bobby left to make their home in North Bay.
