Mr. and Mrs. Albert McChesney accompanied by their daughter, Mrs. Edna Fraser, spent the week-end at Sudbury and attend- ed the 25th Wedding Anniversary of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lewak left Sunday for their home at Hamilton after spending a holiday with Mrs. Lewak's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mondoza Blanchard, who cele- brated their 50th Wedding Anni- versary. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ames of Matachewan spent Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mc- Chesney. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Mercier and family of Gillies called on Saturday at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Russel Hunton and Mr. Hun- ton. Mrs. Ted Bowen of Hudson visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert McChesney. Miss Jeannine Paquette was guest of honor on Monday evening at a lovely miscellaneous shower held by four of her friends, 'Miss Cecille Lanthier, Miss Norma Mel- ancon and the Missess Yvette and Madeline Belanger in the parish hall of the Sacred Heart Church. The guests enjoyed a variety of games for a portion of the evening and prizes were presented to the winners. Highlight of the evening came when the hostesses escorted the bride-to-be to a nicely decorated table over which hung pink, blue and white balloons, filled with con- fetti. The table was filled to over- flowing with prettily wrapped gifts. Jeannine thanked her many friends for the beautiful presents and their thoughfulness. Refresh- ments were served by the hostess- es. North Sunshine Branch of the Women's Institute presented awards to pupils of highest stand- ing and most progress from grade one to grade eight in North Cobalt Public School and St. Charles Sep- arate School.
