The bride is the daughter Of Mirs. Evelyn Pitcaithley, Queen Street, and the late Robert Pit- @aithley, and her husband is the cen of Mr. and Mrs. James Tap- penden, Haileybury. Rev. Norman Young officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Entering the church on the arm of Arthur Nelson, the bride was ia lovely picture in her full-length bridal gown of Mira Mist crystal taffeta fashioned with an Empire waist. Her bouffant skirt-ended in a back bustle and was topped with a Chantilly lace bodice and long lily-point lace sleeves. Her elbow- length nylon net veil was held in a crown of illusion leaves studded with pearls and sequins. She car- ried a nosegay of Sweetheart roses, white carnations and steph- anotis. Her sister, Miss. Mariene Pit- caithley, was maid of honor and was attired in a 'frock of *blue silk organza styled with full gathered skirt and fitted bodice. She wore a matching hat and carried pink tand white carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Walsh, Mrs. L. Skube and Miss Marilyn Tappenden. They were attired -in identical blue gowns of organza over taffeta and wore matching feather thats and carried nosegays of pink and white carnations. Brother of the bridegroom, Ed- win Tappenden, was best man and the ushers were Robert Walsh and Ladiston Skube. There were nine ladies present from the Kirkland Lake Club but owing to tthe date being changed to an earlier time, members of other clubs were unaible to attend. Nine holes of golf was played in the forenoon with another nine in the afternoon for those desiring to do so, : Mrs. Brown served coffee and muffins before ~play started and her usual special luncheon at noon hour. Tea was also served before retiring ito their homes. There were some sixteen ladies extra who attended the luncheon and afternoon tea. Before. distributing the prizes Mrs. R. Murphy, vice president, in the absence of the president, ex- pressed appreciation at the good turnout and called on Mrs. John Knox, captain, and Mrs. S. Bond to present the prizes. Those receiving same were, in Group A: Low Gross - Mrs. -D. Dean; Low Net - Miss K. Murphy; Longest Drive - Miss K. Murphy; Lowest no. of putts - Mrs. S. Bond, In Group B: Low Gross - Bar- bara Camsell; Low Net - Evelyn Sargent; Longest Drive - Joanne Murphy, and Lowest no. of putts - Mrs. W. Dobbins. Hidden hole was won by Mrs. N. McDonald, Kirk- land Lake, Mrs. Lorne Woods won the prize for the lowest score in nine hole round, Lane Hotel where . the bride's mother welcomed the guests mod- elling @ sheath gown of pink lace with matching fitted jacket. She wore a pink lace hat and white accessories. The bridegroom's mother, who also received, chose a navy print- ed frock with fitted jacket, and white accessories. Both wore cor- sages of pink 'and white carna- tions. For travelling to points in the United States, the bride donned a white sheath dress with a picture collar and short jacket. She wore a small pink flowered hat. Mr. sand' Mrs. Dennis Graham Tiappenden are residing at 52B Government Road West. Prior to her marriage, the bride was entertained by Mrs. Jack Ramsay, Mrs. G. Antoniazzi and Miss Sylvia Hoshka, dozed through the bush to a point five miles east of the ONR tracks at Dane. To date, three miles have been put into navigable order- and the miain route of the road, allowing passage of some jeep-like vehi- cles, is cleared through to the mine site at the end of the five- mile road. Tractordrawn trailers are haul- ing out ore samples from the mine site where engineers are slit- trenching in aréas where the top spoil has been scraped off. Some difficulties are being en- countered in the work.
