A letter had been received from Mrs. S: Winks thanking members for gifts and cards sent while she was ill and one from Mrs. Muriel | Tresidder for the farewell present she received from them before leaving to make her home in Niag- ara Falls. Another member, Miss Ethel Herbert has. gone to Sudbury |to live. The president thanked all those who had filled in for absent members and the meeting closed.in regular form with a lovely lunch being served by Mrs. S. Mallett and her committee. | C.P.T. To Purchase New Wheel Chair é President Mrs, Signe -Kangas | chaired the meeting of the C. P. | and T. when they met.on Tuesday, Sept. 1 for their regular meeting which was held in the I.0.0.F. hall. Secretary Mrs. Hugh Arm- strong read the minutes of the previous meeting and the finan- cial statement by Mrs. Ellen Giffin reported the bingo and draw held in July were very successful. Win- ner of the tackle box was Mrs. Alf Seed. The C. P. and T. com- mittee would lke to thank all who assisted or patronized this |project. A motion was made to purchase another wheel chair as there is always such a need for them. One person received assis- tance from this group during the summer. Cobalt Lions Begin Meetings The Cobalt Lions club held its first meeting of the 1959-60 season at the Legion Lounge on Tuesday evening with President Ernie Thi. beault in the chair. The meeting opened with the singing of O Can- ada followed by the Lions Code of Ethics read by John Damiani and Grace by Murray McKinnon, Throughout the dinner meeting a a sing song was held under the direction of Tail Twister Denis Larabie and with Ford Chapman accompanying at the piano.
