Chevrette, a former Hail- eyburian,- was found dead on the trail leading to a partridge hunting area near his home in Cornwall on September 18. Wr. Chevrette was born in Hail- eybury and spent all his life here until he moved four years ago to Cornwall. He is survived by his wife, form- erly Miss Margaret Laroque, and ene daughter, Lucille of Ottawa. His sister, Mrs. Sid. Rouse, brother-in-law, J. R. Laroque and sister-in-law, Miss Germaine Lar- aque, went to Cornwall to attend the funeral which was held Tues- day, September 22. Square Dancing The Square Dance Club, ar- ganized six years ago, will be starting its Fall sessions next week in the Community Mem- orial Hall. On Tuesday, September 29, commencing at 8 p.m., the club will meet in the Banquet Hall, and make plans for the #all and Winter, Thursday, September 24, 1959 Cobalt Personals Mr. and Mrs. T. Othmer. and family spent the week-end in Vir- giniatown visiting Mrs. Othmer's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs, J. Gravelle. Father Enright of the Redemp- torist Order of Missionaries is preaching a Mission at St. Pat- rick's Church in Cobalt this week. Mr. and Mrs. George Hurst, Mur- ry Wright, Lawrence Hurst . and Mrs. C. Brydges motored to. Tor- onto for the week-end. Lawrence Hurst will be remaining-in Toronto to work. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Scully of Sarnia and Rev. M. J. Scully of Noranda have been visiting their mother, Mrs. Morris Scully, 86 Baker St. Miss Helvi Nemi spent the week- end in Sudbury where she attended the Niemala -- Tervo wedding on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Delmonte of Timmins were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Slaght enroute to Tor- onto and the Maple Leaf training camp at Peterborough. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Taylor leave Sunday for a holiday in Toronto and the States and ending in Mon- treal where they are to meet Mrs. Taylor's mother, Mrs. I. Scott of England who will be arriving there on the 29 and will be returning to Cobalt with them for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Burns of Tor- onto were guests this week of the Pat Slaghts. Mr. Burns was re- newing acquaintances in Cobalt where he was on the staff of the Canadian Bank of Commerce 21 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Ross McDougall left Friday for Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Tresidder left to spend the week-end in Gow- ganda as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Brown. CIMM The Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy will hold their first meeting of the current season in the Hailey- bury Legion Hall at eight o'clock Friday evening, Sep- tember 25. . This will be a "Film Night" when through the courtesy of Canadian Industries Ltd., two films lasting approximately twenty-five minutes each, will be shown. The first, 'Blasting Vibrations", is a description of blasting vibrations and the suc- cessful control of their effects in built-up areas. The second film is "Riders of the North Wind", and portrays the pre- paration for goose hunting on James Bay when Indian guides make decoys and then expert- ly call the wavering flights of geese to the hunters' lines.
