The groom's mother chose a grey suit with pink hat and accessories. After a wedding trip to North Bay the newlyweds will reside in Temag- ami, Bonnie Doon Camp Banquet President Mrs. Harry Smith was in the chair for the meeting of Bonnie Doon Camp which was held Saturday afternoon, October 17 in the 1.0.0.F. Hall in Cobalt. The meeting opened with the Flag Drill with Past President of the Grand Camp Mrs. Melrose of Tor- onto as pianist. The Bible was opened after which the President introduced Grand Camp President Mrs. Mary Houghton, who was the 'organizer of Bonnie Doon Camp as well as a Past President and Life Member. Mrs. Houghton was invited to sit at the President's right. Five Past Grand Presidents and ten Grand Camp Officers were welcomed. First Vice President, Mrs. Binker of Hamilton was asked to sit at the Presidents left. Nine Past Presidents of Bonnie Doon; eleven officers and two life members were present. The min- utes were read by Secretary Sarah Wink and approved. An application for membership in the Camp was accepted, carried out and found favourable .and initiated into the camp. Mrs. Madge McLeod gave her yeatly report which was very gratifying. The sick convener for Cobalt reported that Mrs. Iva Brydges was ill at her son's home in Sudbury. Reports were also heard from the sick conveners for Haileybury and New Liskeard. Bills 'and communications were dealt with. Mrs. B. Armstrong reported for the Trustees and the Financial report was accepted. In unfinished business, Mrs. Sarah Wink took the chair for the elec- tion of Recording Secretary. Mrs. M. Houghton took this over on the nomination of Mrs. Wink for this office. Mrs. Cora Duncan thanked the Camp for the gifts, cards and flowers received from Past Noble Grands on the occasion of her fif- tieth wedding anniversary. Mrs. Stan Mallett extended an invita- tion to a tea to be held on Sunday afternoon at her home in New Lis- keard, Gifts were received 'from two Grand Camp Past Presidents, Mrs. Lees and Mrs. McLeod, both of Toronto. These will be drawn for during the year at meetings. Mrs. Binker reported that she had tickets with her for the Burns Sup- per which is to be held in Toronto on January 23. Mrs. Houghton . gave a wonderful report and men- tioned how very pleased she was with the floor work and initiation carried out by the officers and ~ members of Bonnie Doon Camp. After her installation, Mrs. Mallett was honoured with a solo "'Bless This House" sung by. her daughter-in-law, Mrs.~ Bill Mallett accompanied at the piano by her young daughter Bonnie. On the completion of installations Mrs. called upon Mrs. Grace Lonsdale, a life member, to pin the Past President's Jewel on Mrs. Smith. On behalf' of the Officers of Bonnie Doon Camp, Mrs. Mallett presented a gift to Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Maddock was brought to the platform for the presentation of gifts of Grand Camp President, Mrs. Houghton, Grand Camp Marshal, Mrs. A. Adams of Toronto, Grand Camp Assistant Marshal, Mrs. M. Rogers Mallett took over the meeting and | of Toronto and to Mrs. Melrose of Toronto who assisted at the piano during the afternoon session. Mrs. Albert Svekers was pianist for the Grand Camp session in the even- ing. A gift donated by Mrs. Hough- ton was won by Mrs. M._ White. The meeting adjourned with the Closing Drill by the Grand Camp Officers and God Save the Queen. Sunday afternoon, October 18, Mrs. Stan Mallett opened her home in New Liskeard to members of Bonnie Doon Camp and visiting guests. A lovely bouquet of mums, a gift from her family, adorned the tea table which was attended by Mrs. Annie Maddock assisted by Mrs. Bob Boyd and Mrs. Mal- lett's daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sandy Mallett. Mrs. Mallett wore a cor- sage of five red roses that had been presented to her by her hus- band. Quite a number of her band. Quite a numbr of her friends from Cobalt attended: Larabie - Audette Ste. Therese Church. was the setting for the marriage of Theresa Audette, daughter of Mrs. Audette and the late Placide Audette of Cobalt to Eugene Larabie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Udgere Larabie .of Cobalt. The marriage was solem- nized on Saturday; October 10 at 9 am. with Father O, Lemay of ficiating. Wedding music played by Sister Ste. Cyr. The bride chose for her wedding a dress of sapphire blue lace over taffeta with matching jacket, feather hat. and accessories. Her corsage was pink and white roses. |Her sister Cecile Audette attended (Bee as maid of honour. Upon their return they will make their home in Cobalt. Out of town -guests were Mr. and Mrs. R. Courtemanche of North Bay, Miss Sylvia Larabie of North Bay - Miss Evelyn Larabie of Ottawa, Mr. and Mrs. W. Brydle of Timmins and Mr. Hugh Wright of Temagami. Mrs. David Goulding Watson Relatives and friends of Mrs. David Goulding Watson, the for- mer Frances Louise Richards of Cobalt were shocked to hear of her sudden death on Tuesday, September 29 at her home in Jackson, Mississippi. Frances was born in Cobalt 25 years ago and was the daughter of Frank and Louise Richards. She was edu- cated in Cobalt, graduating from Cobalt High School before going to the Hospital for Sick Children where she received her Registered Nurses Degree. She then took a Post Graduate Course in Public Health Nursing at the University of Toronto. On October 4, 1957, she was married at Port Credit to Port Credit and had resided there | until about two months ago when they left to make their home at Jackson, Miss. A willing and inter- ested worker in anything she un- dertook, she gave freely of her time and while at Port Credit she volunteered her services a couple of afternoons each week at the Gift Shop in South Memorial Hos- pital. The body was taken to Port Credit and rested at the Skinner and Middlebrook Funeral Home until time of the funeral service which was' held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Oct- ober 3 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Hart officiating. Pall - bearers were Dr. Norman Epstein, George Benness, Alexander Harrison Robert Watson, Gerry Hart and Frank Zengrove.. Interment was in Springereek Cemetery, Clark- son. She is survived by her hus- band and baby daughter Patrice | and. Mrs. Frank Richards, one brother Kenneth of Cobalt and four sisters ------ Doctor David Goulding Watson of| 2 ay orie, Mrs. Hugh Knox of North Bay, Mildred, Mrs. Vaughn Rivers of Geraldton. : Hydro Ladies Club 4 : President Mrs. Keith Reid chair- ed the regular monthly meeting of the Hydro Ladies Club when they met at her home at the Upper Notch on Monday, October 5, with ten members present. The minutes were read by the Secretary Mrs. Cahill and Mrs. S. Laroeque gave the Treasurer's report. Mrs. Reid welcomed the visitors who were present. The Christmas. bazaar was discussed with the hope that all the members would make a special effort to make this a suc- cess. All articles are to be turned in at the next meeting which will be held at the home of Mrs. G, Romano in November. Further plans were made for the Lad} ; Christmas party. The Hydro \ _ dies felt that they would like to give assistance to a needy family and this will be looked into further.
