Forget » Miss Marguerite Forget of Otta- wa, formerly of Haileybury, was fhe violinist at the first of a series ef four Saturday afternoon con- ferts being sponsored by the Otta- wa Music Club in the Convention Hall in the Chateau Laurier. The following account of her performance is taken from Blyth Young's music review in the Otta- wa Journal; -- { The young violinist was. Mar- Guerite Forget,. of Junior Music Club age but certainly of more ad- ulf accomplishment, She chose to play not from the simpler reper- feire; .but the Vivaldi--Respighi Sonatain D, the flowing Melodie of: Gluck--Kreisler and the Tartini Concerto in D. The last named in- cluded a mosf difficult cadenza for fhe violin alone which Miss Forget 6ailed through right on key as if there really was no. difficulty. The G@ne. collaboration: at-the piano was by Marguerite Guttadauria." To The Editor Dear Sir: I read with interest: Mr. Norman Abraham's letter last week about &@ proposed new Community Centre "én. Haileybury. Whilst I agree with Mr. Abraham that a Community Centre would be @ fine thing for Haileybury, I-do eel that the money that would be} -€equired to finance such a project would go a 'long way towards pro- viding us with a new school. I would urge members of this ¢ommunity to think very carefully phout this. The decision. is not 'shall we build a Community Cen- tre" but "is sport more-important fhan sdequate educational facil- ities?" , Yours faithfully, 'Margarite Pritchard - The Weather ; Week ending November' 10, 1959. : : Max, Min, FPONG GORY rs. y ke 34 27.
