Figures .released by the depart- ment of. mines show the' gross shipping weight of concentrates. at 675,782 with a silver content of 912,785 ounces. The concentrates also contained 38,134 pounds of cobalt, 5,092 pounds of nickel, and 8,667 pounds of copper. Siscoe Metals shipped the most silver bullion, with 91,199 ounces. Siscoe was closely followed by Agnico Mines with 86,963 ounces, and Deer Harn with 64,136 ounces. | Langis Silver near New Liskeard shipped 36,811 ounces of bullion. Langis led the field in concen- trates shipped and silver recovery, with 317,318 pounds of concen- trates estimated to yield 316,094 ounces of silver. St. Laurent was hostess to the Silver Nugget W.I. meeting held at her home on Wednesday, April 20. Mrs. H: Cooper presided over the meeting and called it to order with the Opening Ode and the Mary Ste- wart Collect. A donation is to be sent to the Temiskaming District Tuberculosis {Association. The visiting com- mittee reported that a fruit bas- ket had been delivered to a mem- ber who had been ill. District Director, Mrs. Sara Wink, was called upon to chair the election of the new executive and named Mrs. J. Yanyk, Mrs. D. Swaychuck' and Mrs. A. St. Laurent to act-as scrutineers. The following were elected to of- fice and duly installed by the Dis- trict Director. President, Mrs. H. Cooper; 1st vice-president, Mrs. A. St. Laurent; 2nd _ vice-president, Mrs. S. Primeau; secretary-treas- urer, Mrs. L. Jennings; District Director, Mrs. S. Wink. The May meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. D.
