Approximately 24 of the girls and their friends attended, with their leaders, Mrs. J. Gilkes, Mrs. N. MacPherson and Rev. Roy Nixon. They will resume their regular meetings in September. Mrs. Geonge Kranz and daugh- ter Jeanie have returned after spending several days in Toronto. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ouimet during the long week-end were Mrs. Margaret Ouimet, Ronald and Jackie Price and Jasper Brunt, all of Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Harrison will have as their guest in early June, Mrs. Harrison's mother, Mrs. M. McMullen of Huddersfield, York- shire, Eng. This will be Mrs. Mc- Mullen's first visit to Canada. Miss Jean Grant has returned to Deep River after spending the holiday week-end with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Grant. '- Members and prospective mem- bers numbering approximately 45 attended the pot luck supper spon- sored by ithe Ladies' Section of the Haielybury Golf Club Wednes- day evening, May '18. Members from New Liskeard and Cobalt as well as Haileybury were present. Mrs. E. J. Atkinson spent the holiday week-end at her cottage at Callander with her sons, Ted and Campbell of Toronto. Mr. George Leask left for Lab- rador Saturday night where he will be employed for some time. Mrs. Leask will visit for a time with Mr. and Mrs. T. Cobalt Legion WA To Be Rally Hosts COBALT -- Mrs. Betty McPher- son presided at the regular month- ly meeting of the Ladies' Auxil- iary to the Canadian Legion which was held in the: Legion Lounge. The minutes were read and ap- proved and donations are to be given to the Veterans T.B. Fund and also the Film Council. The gift of the month was won by Mrs. L. Cole. The Provincial Convention will be held in Windsor on September 15 - 18 and the president, Mrs. Mc- Pherson will attend as delegate and also Mrs. E. Whitehead, Zone Commander. New drapes are to be bought for the windows in the lounge. It was announced that there is to be a Zone Rally in Cobalt on Tuesday, June 14, and the vice- president of the Ontario Provincial Command, Mrs. M. Tilbey of Tor- onto will be the guest speaker.
