'€ole Portable. Professtonal i ONTARIO Friendship Group Installs Officers COBALT -- Mrs. N. O. Webb of Englehart, W.M.S. Presbyterial Secretary for Affiliated C.G.I.T. Groups and the Sunshine Gals C.G.1.T. Group and their leader, Mrs. Albert Svekers, were present at the regular meeting of the Friendship Group which was held in the United Church hall last week. - The visitors were in attendance for the Affiliation Service of the C.G.1.T. following the completion of the World Friendship Project, which the President, Gail Stough- ton, outlined, and was further ex- plained in~a short dialogue in which all the C.G.I.T. took part. Mrs. Menzie Friendship Group President presented the World Friendship Insignia to each of the girls. The Worship Service which was 'taken by the C.G.I.T. opened with singing, followed by Bible read- ings by Beverly Tryon. The ser- vice closed with a prayer by Mrs. Webb after which the girls sang the C.G.I.T. hymn. The installation of the Friend- ship Group Executive which had been postponed for various rea- sons, took place. Rev. Wipprecht, who installed the officers, said that this was an historic event as this would be the last time offi- cers of this group would be install- ed, 1962 is the year for the amal- gamation of all the women's groups of the United Church. He thanked the Friendship Group on behalf of the church for the won- derful work carried on through the years. New President is Mrs. M. Men- zie; vice-president, Mrs. N. Wall- man; secretary, Mrs. E. Therese Church on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m. for the late Caesar Cor- belli, who passed -away in the Misericordia Hospital on Wednes- day, March 22, after a very short illness. Rev. Father O. Lemay of- ficated at the funeral. Mr. Corbelli, who resided on Third St. in Cobalt, was born in Pesaro, Itally, 77 years ago. He was married at Pesaro in 1906 to the former Edvigi Zuffini and in 1919 moved to Canada, where for many years, Mr. Cor- belli was well known as a wood dealer at Cobalt. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Nello of Thorold, Yo- lando of Niagara Falls, Leno of North Bay, two daughters, Mel- vina (Mrs: G. Gabbani) and De- lia (Mrs. G. Modesto) both of Rouyn. Menzie for the manse committee. It was decided to have the roll call answered at the next meeting with donations of preserves, honey, ete., for Northdale Manor. A decision was made to have a rummage sale on April 21 and 22. Silver Rebekah Names Delegates COBALT -- Lodged opened in form at the regular meeting of Silver Rebekah Lodge held in the 1.0.0.F. Hall on Wednesday, March 22, with Noble Grand S. Wink in the chair. Six officers were absent. : " Vice Grand Mrs. P. Greening reported cards and flowers had been sent to several members who. were ill. Banquet tickets are now avail} able for the monster Northern Area Rally to be held in Iroquois Falls April 22-23. Billets will be supplied to members requiring them. Mrs. Carrie Birtch was appoint- ed as delegate to the Rebekah As- sembly which will be held in Tor- onto in June. Alternate delegate is Mrs. L. Richards. Mrs. Birtch was also chosen as delegate to the District Meeting in July with Mrs. V. Cassidy as al- ternative. Some of the sisters thanked their unknown friends and the lodge for ecards they had received. Mem- bers' roll call was answered by eighteen members. Mrs. Wink thanked the members who had filled in vacant offices.
