Page 4 The Haileyburian Speck - Lemoine A pretty spring wedding was solemnized at the rectory of St. Patrick's Church, Cobalt, on Mon- day, April 3, at 7 p.m., when Jacqueline Theresa Lemoine of Cobalt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lemoine of Cobalt became the bride of Donald Lewis Speck of Cobalt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Speck of Coniston. Fa- ther M. Jeffery officiated at th double ring ceremony. - Given in marriage by her fa- ther, the bride chose for her wed- ding a walking suit of mid green wool with which she wore "a tall 'cloche' hat of white straw, white blouse and gloves and brown shoes. Her corsage was yellow roses and lily-of-the-valley. The groom's sister, Miss Linda Speck of Cobalt attended the bride as maid of honour. She 'wore a gold wool walking suit, loden green Thursday, April 13, 1961 tall cloche hat and accessories, and a corsage of tea roses. Mr. Glen Ferguson of Sault Ste. Marie, the groom's cousin, was best man. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents, Mrs. R. Le- moine, the bride's sister-in-law re- ceived the guests due to the sud- den illness of the bride's mother. She wore a blue suit with black and white cloche hat, white gloves and a corsage of pink roses. She was assisted by Mrs. Speck, who wore a gold coloured suit, with matching flowered hat," green ac- cessories, and a corsage of white 'mums. ; Mr. and Mrs. Speck left later for a trip to Southern Ontario and on their return will reside in Co- balt. Out-of-town guests, who attended were Mr. and Mrs. S. Speck and Raymond of Coniston, Mr. and Mrs.:R. Lemoine, Mr. Dave Dono- ghue; all of New Liskeard, and Mr. Glen Ferguson of Sault Ste. Marie. Rotarians Hear Local Assayer An account of the work done in the Browning Street assay labor- atory of Bell-White was an inter- esting part of the program at the Rotary Club dinner last week. The account was given by Bud Brooks as guest speaker, and the story of the samples of gold and silver ore as they go through the hands of the workers there was listened to with keen interest. And speaking of gold and silver, Mr. Brooks, who is the treasurer of the Easter Seal campaign, re- ported that as of April 8, $530 had been received. This week, the program was provided by Tom Parry, a Rotar- ian who is a member of the teach- ing profession; whose talk led to some interesting discussion. Kitchen Shower For Shirley Scalzo A very charming kitchen show- er was arranged by Margaret and Priscella Cavanagh and Jo Sauve, in honor of Shirley Scalzo, whose marriage will take place in early May. The shower was held at the Cavanagh home and games and contests provided entertainment during the evening. The many beautifully wrapped gifts were presented to the guest of honor in a basket decorated in pink and blue.
