Above, OPP Corporal Sid Daley examines the Morin car. 50 Years Membership For Mrs. Ness McAulay Mrs. Ness McAulay was honor- ed by her sister members at the regular meeting of the Northern Light Rebekah Lodge on November 1st, on the occasion of attaining 50 years of membership in the Rebekah organization. Mrs. McAulay was escorted to the centre of the Hall by Mrs. Olive Childs, who read a scroll written by hersalf, and dedicated to Mrs. McAulay, paying. tribute to her for her work as a Rebekah. Mrs. Alberta Clow then presented Mrs. McAulay with a leather writ- ing case complete with pen, with the good wishes: of the Lodge mem- bers. The Noble Grand, Mrs. Isa McNaught, and Mrs. T.. Cragg, both added good wishes, and Mrs. Cragg presented her with a cors- age of yellow baby 'mums, don- ated by Whorley Florists. In thanking the ladies for their gift and the party in her honor, which came as a complete sur- prise, Mrs. McAulay told them that it was a double celebration as her birthday falls on November 9th. She was a Charter member of the Silver Rebekah. Lodge at Co- balt, organized in October, 1911, and was instrumental in organiz- ing the Northern Light Lodge in Haileybury. in 1919. Cup matches in Scotland next March © will have the moral support of. a record number of North -American fans. 'Two 140-seat jets have been chartered by the Scotch Cup Boosters' Club to fly members to the United Kingdom for the 1962 world series of curling. The matches between 'the champ- jonship curling rinks of Canada, Scotland and thé U.S. open March | 15 and will be played in Falkirk and Edinburgh. Three Arrested Three men are in custody in Haileybury charged with break- ing, entering and theft, follow- ing their arrest early Sunday morning by Constable Keith Arthurton of the Englehart De- tachment of the Ontario Prov- incial - Police. Constable Arthurton was checking the doors of business establishments in Englehart when he heard a pounding in the offices of William Pollock and son. He entered the building and caught two men in the act of knocking the dial off a safe with a sledge hammer. He lat- er arrested a third man who is alleged to have been the get- away man for the thieves. In custody in Haileybury are John Silveggia, Port Arthur, Peter.
