Morton, f & 'Vel, 23, No. 43 Fo, Brilliant Concert By Two Choral Societies {When the big bonspiel opened in} A brilliant rendering of "Hia- watha's Weding Feast" from Longfellow's famous poem, hy the combined Haileybury and Cobalt choral societies, was the chief feature of a splendid con- cert given in the assembly hall of the High School here on Thurs- day evening last. This was the first performance of this work, set to music by S. Coleridge-Tay- lor, given in Northern Ontario and it was particularly interest- ing in view of the fact that it was from Northern Ontario Lakeland that the Ojibway chiefs came who told:the story.» The concert on Thursday night was the third since the societies were organized.
