On Friday evening, _Dect_ 27, at the Wilmette M. E. church, a stereopticon entertainment will be given under the auspices of the church board, entitled "The Dawn of Plenty." Every year the International Harvester company ap- propriates a large sum of money for educational purposes along agricul- tural lines, and this is one of the ways the company does it, which is by spending large sums of money in ob- taining the very best pictures possible, and they ~have one of the best, if not the best, machines with which to put the pictures on the screen. This is absolutely not an advertisement, but an education, and the people of Wil- mette are very fortunate in having the opportunity to attend this entertain- ment in their home town. The church board made application for this enter- tainment in the early part Of October, and Dec. 27 was the only date open, and they immediately made a contract I of Wilmette, were some of the young lor it. Mrs. Carpenter of 1023 Lake ave- nue, who has been visiting friends on the South Side of Chicago, returned to her home last Monday. Miss Alice Armstrong, who with her mother went to California about six weeks ago, has returned. Her mother will spend the winter there. Friday afternoon, Dec. 20, the chil- dren of the kindergarten will give a Christmas party to which all the par- ents and friends are invited. Mannerud, 1119 Lake ave- nue, who was called to Montana on the sad mission of the death of her sister, returned a week ago with the remains, and interment was made in one of the Chicago cemeteries. Mrs. Charles V. L. Petera and Mrs. JL.P.Rowell of 1012 Greenwood ave- nue are entertaining today with luncheon and cards. Mrs. Pond of Ev- anston, Mrs. Peters' daughter, who is guest of honor, will soon go to New York to live. Mrs. Robert H. Keith and baby daughter, Katherine, whose home is now in Baltimore, have returned for the holidays to visit friends and rela- tives. E. church Sunday evening, Dec. 29, at 6:15 o'clock. Mr. Snyder is a young man of rare ability, a good speaker and well worth hearing.
