With school teams selected preparations have been made for the inter-school contests at New Trier Township High school and at the Chicago theater.._ / Musical instruments, ranging from grand pianos to talking machines, wiU be the contest prizes awarded by leading Chicago music concerns. This ^Saturday afternoon at 2:16 o'clock the numbers in the prelim- inary contest at-New Trier auditor- ium wilr be played by sixteen mem- bers of the Chicago Symphony orches- tra under direction of George Dasche. New Trier, Deerfield-Shields and ^Bvanston high schools arc to compete in this contest, the principal purpose pf which is to select five students from each school to compete in the final contest at orchestra hall on April 16. w„ ^ The grammar schools of Wilmette, Winnetka, Glenooe anjcl Highland ^affk^gilLjJso^have Jhpjr contestJtaL connection with the high school pre- liminaries this Saturday. ON FORBIDDEN GROUND Edwin Guritz, 1624 Walnut avenue, got into the path of an alert Evans- ton traffic policeman last Friday when he drove an automobile truck along a boulevard. The Evanston police court assessed Guritz $5 and costs. New Scout Troop Awaits Charter From New York Boy Scouts affiliated with the troop sponsored by the First Methodist Episcopal church are awaiting with asaaisBmmmmmm considerable eagerness the arrival of their charter from national head- quarters in New York.
