SPRING'S HERE; ALSO BASEBALL Wilmette Team Announces Season's Plans the biggest season in the history of Wilmette is promised the baseball fans of the village by the Wilmette Athletic club, now engaged in planning for the rapidly approaching season of play. Meetings have been held and it can be announced at this time that the local club, thanks to the kindness of school authorities, will play its games on the new playgrounds at 17th street and Washington avenue, the diamond at Wilmette avenue having been converted into building sites. Announcement is made also that Bill Robinson will manage the Wilmette Baseball club and that -Bell" Robinson, !»THE:'iJvkE:sH6^::|^s;gRiDA^PRiTJ ^:m:msmmm^mmmmmmmmmmKm<A catcher at the University of Illinois, will probably do the receiving here when he concludes his studies in June. Nor- man, last year's mainstay hurter, will in all probability be back in the line-up this season. Norman passed through a siege of illness but hopes to be in shape when the "play ball" signal is flashed. The Wilmette team has entered the Intercity league, which insures the local bugs some real baseball games. Some of the best non-professional teams in Chi- cago will be seen on the 17th street diamond, and prospects are Wilmette will land high up in the season's ratings. North Shore Specialist Pens Book on Child Care Louis W. Sauer, M. A., M. D., well known to north shore residents as the senior attending pediatrician at the Ev- anston hospital, is the author of a note- worthy book on child care, just received from the publishers, under the title of Nursery Guide for Mothers and Nurses. Dr. Sauer's book is a work meriting a high position in the field which it covers. Many of those who have ex- amined it believe it to be a volume which will-vie for eminence in the place so long occupied with little contention by Holt. -'"' v >4^^^-^:^s It is pointed out that in spite of epoch- making discoveries and progress in this branch.of medics, the infant death rate still continues high. This little book is intended to aid this situation as far as possible by the guidance of those to whom the care of the infant is entrusted. It gives in a clear, concise form all es- sential details of care and feeding. Un- like other books, it does not give hazard- ous formulas and prescriptions. It tells how to care for .the infant-in health and disease. The subject matter is coherent and systematically arranged, and the ill- ustrations are timely. ^h#T*ofth shore may well be proud by this newest ad- dition to the works of men and women who write from this community.
