Arthur Spiegel, Wizard of Finance, Buried Last Sunday at Rose Hill

Burial services of the late Arthur Spiegel, aged 31 years, multimillionnaire son of Joseph Spiegel, Sheridan road, Winnetka, and whose meteoric career in the world of finance came to a sudden and untimely end at the Plaza hotel in New York on Friday, were held from his home in Chicago last Sunday afternoon. Interment was made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Though on their way homeward from a winter spent in California, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Spiegel were advised of their son's death en route and were present at the funeral services. HIs mother was prostrated by the shock of the bereavement news of which awaited her arrival in Chicago late Saturday. Mr. Arthur Spiegel, whose fame in the financial world as the head of Spiegel, May Stern & Company, a $20,000,000 mail order corporation, a stock holder in the Spiegel Furniture company and for the last six months head of the World Film Company, at a salary of $60,000 a year, brought to him many of the leading business interests of the country for advise [sic], was the victim of pneumonia. He was stricken on Monday of last week and was unable to rally from the attack. At his bedside at the time of his death were his wife and two small children; also his brother, Sidney M. Spiegel, who too, resides in Winnetka, and who was associated with the deceased financier in the mail order business. His family, accompanied by his brother, immediately left New York with the body for Chicago, where they arrived Saturday, and that evening were joined by the dead man's parents.
