Edward Carpenter Hildreth, 2006 Beachwood avenue, died Tuesday in his home of pneumonia. He was 38 years of age. Funeral services will take place in the chapel of Graceland cemetery at 1 o'clock today (Thursday), conducted by Rev. John G. Hindley, pastor of the First Congregational church, with which Mr. Hildreth was affiliated. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Owen Hildreth, and two sons Owen Richard and Edward Jr. Mr. Hildreth was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and educated at Beloit college. Since coming to Wilmette he has been active in church and civic affairs, and in 1931 he was nominated for Village trustee by the Harmony convention. His business career is evidence of unusual ability. For nine years prior to 1931 he was general service manager of the U.S. Gypsum company. He then joined Montgomery Ward and company as personnel manager, for which profession he was exceptionally well qualified.
