- Police returned a mentally ill man to the custody of the state's mental health care system Saturday after a domestic incident in a car. Daniel A. Barichello, 49, was found unfit to stand trial in 1983 for the 1979 Evanston slaying of Joseph Treff, who had been stabbed more than 50 times.
