- Aaron Dubnow, 20, Daniel Kiefer, 19, and Kate Roin, 23, from Glencoe along with Winnetka's Elizabeth Ferguson, 19, Emily Richmond, 20 of Wilmette and Richard Schwinn of Northfield recently competed in the U.S. AAU National Karate team at the World Karate Confederation's Sixth World Championships in Bergamo, Italy. Kiefer earned a gold medal on the U.S. Ippon kumite team, Dubnow a ronze medal on the Sanbon Kimite team, while Roin, Ferguson, Richmond and Schwinn's shotokank ata team earned a bronze. Richmond also took bronze in individual Shotokan Kata.
