Mr. James Martin returned Sunday to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Miss Betty Poucher is spending the holidays with relatives at Milwaukee

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rudolph, Monday, December [illegible]

Colonel Will Jacobs entertained Saturday from 4 to 6 with a children's party.

Mr. and Mrs. Holenbeck [unclear] are the guests of their daughter, Mrs. Charles [unclear]

The B. A. E. club gave its holiday dance Friday evening in the school gymnasium.

Miss Elizabeth Packer is spending the Christmas vacation with her sister at Brooklyn, N.Y.

Mrs. Barbara Laughray left December [?] on a business trip to Fort Meyer, Florida.

Mrs. Ruth Collins class in dancing will hold its holiday dance Thursday afternoon, January 7

Misses Helen Martin and Mary Hall spent the weekend with friends at Michigan City, Indiana.

Mr. Wallace Gilmore is spending Christmas week with his mother at Michigan City, Indiana.

Mrs. Eva Clementi and children will occupy the Day flat in the Ziesing building until spring.

Mr. Will Leach, Jr., returned Wednesday to the Boston Technical Institute, where he is a student.

The Theta Gamma Sigma gave a masquerade party in teh school gymnasium Wednesday evening.

The Neighborhood club will hold its fortnightly dance in the school gymnasium Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Darling spent Christmas week at the home of Mr. Jay Darling, Des Moines, Iowa.

Mrs. Gilbert Wanner and Miss Maud Cameron of Spring Valley, Illinois, are the guests of Mrs. S. R. Hurford.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schnur entertained with a family dinner Christmas day. Covers were laid for twenty.

Mrs. E. M. Clark and daughter, Polly, of Alton, Illinois, are the guests of Mrs. James P. Brewster, Sheridan road.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel George Goss announce the engagement of their daughter, Hazel, to Mr. Harold Hirsch.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Newhall are spending the holidays with their daughter, Mrs. William Stark, at [unclear] Louisiana

The fourth lecture of the Domestic Art and Science class will be given Wednesday afternoon, January [?], in the Union church.

The receipts form the bazaar held by the ladies of the Methodist Episcopal church, December 4 and 5, were over $500.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McLeish entertained Tuesday evening at the Women's club rooms, Winnetka. Dancing and bridge were enjoyed.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown and daughter are spending the holidays with Mrs. Brown's parents, Mr.and Mrs. E. D. Brigham, Sheridan road.

Harold Hall and Helen Safford were the winners of the electric train and doll given aaway by Mr. Bert Clyde, Glencoe's popular druggist, December 24.

The Young People's society of the Union Church will meet Sunday at 4 p.m., Miss Dorothy Park presiding. The subject for the afternoon is "Friendship."

Misses Margaret and Geraldine Coy will return Sunday to their schools. Miss Margaret to Simmons college, Boston; Miss Geraldine to Swarthmore, Philadelphia.

Mr. Duncan McLeish of San Francisco, California, who is attending school at St. George's academy, is spending the holidays at the home of his uncle, Mr. Andrew McLeish.

The annual church dinner of the Union church is scheduled for Wednesday, January 12. At that time, the committee on [unclear] of constitution and church government will make its report.

At the Women's Literary Club Thursday afternoon, daughters' afternoon was observed. Miss Dorothy Meadows was the entertainer. Subject: "Nowadays." Miss May Trude sang.

Dr. and Mrs. Dwight C. Orcutt entettained during Xmas week Mrs. S. H. Orcutt and daughter, Miss Myrtle and Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Orcutt of Arcola, Illinois, and Mr. Will Leach of Boston.

Dr. and Mrs. O. D. Swain left Wednesday of last week to spend Christmas with their daughter, Mrs. Merritt [unclear] at Albany, N.Y. Dr. Swain returns this week and Mrs. Swain will remain until February.

Mrs. Raymond Stevens entertained Tuesday evening at her beautiful home on Green Bay road, near county line, for her daughter and son, Catherine and James. Fifty young people tripped the light fantastic and other wise enjoyed themselves.

At the Sunday morning service of the Union church New Year's day will be observed both in character of music and sermon. Rev. Cornell will read the names of young people who have not missed a Sunday in their attendance at Sunday school and Young People's Sunday morning service for the past three months.
