- Glencoe Village Manager, Herbert H. Sherer is accepting bids for electronic fire and police alarm systems for his village. This is part of his plan to run the village systematically like a business. He will place about six police boxes and about fifteen fire boxes in different parts of Glencoe. His plans for the village include building a new stable for the fire department's horse to make the animal more accessible. The building may also include sleeping quarters for firement. Village residents are pleased that under Sherer, appointed officials have taken a much more active interest in their duties than previously.
