- Dr. John R. Mott, Evangelist and leader of the Student Volunteer Movement of the United States and Canada, will deliver a series of lectures in Evanston. The topic will be "The Present World Situation and Its Challenge". The first lecture will be Feb. 18 at 8:00 at the First Methodist Church. The others will be on Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Memorial Chapel, on the Northwestern University Campus. Mott has presided at all seven conventions of the student organization and was well received by Northwestern students. He also has been General Secretary of The World Student Christian Federation since 1895, president of the World Missionary Conference in Scotland in 1910 chair of its Continuation committee. Through his missionary work, he has travelled throughout the world and he has written several books about missinary and evangelical work. Mott received and honorary L.L.D. degree June 1910 from the University of Edinburgh and from Princeton University in 1911.
