- Susan M. Hens, a lifetime Wilmette resident, died Aug. 1 in St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. She was 78. Mrs. Hens, of 1415 Maple Av., was the daughter of Peter and Catherine Hoffman, one of the first couples to settle in Wilmette. Mrs. Hens is survived by her husband, Bernard. Other survivors include sisters Mrs. Mary Peetz of Chicago, Mrs. Margaret Lee of Downers Grove, Mrs. Betty Johnson of Wilmette, Mrs. Cecilia Aschen of Berwyn, and Mrs. Veronica Miller of Schiller Park; and a brother, John Hoffman of Skokie. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Techny.
