- While answering a false alarm Evanston Firemen were delayed in extinguishing a real fire. Someone mistakenly reported a fire at Michigan and Kedzie while a large horse barn at the home of J. D. Wigginton, Jr. 1115 Oak avenue was destroyed by fire. The alarms occurred within four minutes of one another at 8:51 and 8:55 on Mon. evening. The horses were saved. Damage amounted to about $3,200.
