- Louise McKenzie served as principal of Logan Elementary School in Wilmette from its opening in 1950 until her retirement in 1978. She was so beloved, the school was renamed in her honor when she retired. Ms. McKenzie died May 18 at age 97. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 22 at the Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine St., Winnetka,
