- Carol C. Walsh, 82, of Lake in the Hills, died July 1 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born June 15, 1923, in Chicago. She is survived by her husband Thomas J. Walsh, whom she married on Jan. 1, 1944; three children, Thomas M. (Leslie) of Lake in the Hills, Carol (Claude) Bowens of Florida and Jane (Ron) Etherton of Lake in the Hills; and a sister, Bernadette Dowdy of Memphis, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Caroline (née Schmidt) Grace; a son, Daniel J., on March 10, 1988; and a sister, Ann Peterson. A funeral Mass was celebrated July 4 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Algonquin. Burial in River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Dundee.
