- Friends of the Wilmette Public Library operate a used bookstore in the basement of the library. The store, Books Down Under, was establised as a permanent venture in 1994 when a library addition created the basement space to house it. The Friends also sponsor an annual sale of large format and seasonal books. Comments by Marion Anderson who oversees the operation of the store.
