Ernest A. Mayer, 68, died May 11 at Holy Cross Hospital in Pompano Beach, Fla.; survivors include his wife, Katherine; three sons, John R. Mayer of Chicago, Gerard F. Mayer of Miami and James M. Mayer of Boston; a daughter, Nancy Kay Mayer of Evanston; a sister Clara Loebach of Chicago; and two grandchildren; mass was offered May 14 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Glenview; burial was in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
